reflection

What did you enjoy about this project?

  • I enjoyed doing the research on Trinity's past, and developing a connection with the rich history that Trinty has.

What surprised you about this project?

  • It suprised me how litte has changed from what I looked at. While obviously the names and faces changed, many of the themes still prevail on campus today.  For example while it has most definently gotten better, the battle to make football matter more on campus is still going on.

What was the most challenging aspect of the project, and how did you manage it?

  • The most challenging part was definently finding information outside of the Trinitonian.  I was actually only able to put Trinitonion related research into my project.

If you could start over, what would you do differently?

  • I would proabably have spent a little more time in Special collections finding some unique items to put into my project.

What did you learn about history and/or the historical process through this project?

  • I saw how important journalism really is when looking back.  Without the work of many Trinitonian staff members I would have been left with very little information.

What did you learn through this project that can be applied to life outside the classroom?

  • I learned about how to conduct true historic research and not just rely on google and Wikipedia for my understanding of past events.  Being able to sift through primary sources to find important information is an invaluable skill that I will use again.
