Trinity Football's Lack of Prominence

Trinity has become extremely competitive throughout the world of Division III athletics over the past few decades. Sports like baseball, track and field, soccer, and football have all produced conference championship caliber seasons, but there has continually been an absence of support from fellow students around campus. American Football has become one of the most popular and professionalized sports in the world, but some football programs have shown that this is not always the case. Why has there been this multiple decade long drought in the Trinity football program’s prominence and popularity, even though the team has seen significant improvements through the late 1990’s to present day?
