Before Calgaard Came to Trinity
Before he was a president at Trinity University, Ronald Calgaard was in administration at the University of Kansas. In his early forties, he was invited to become the president at Trinity. He saw potential in the school and the opportunity to shape it. It reminded him of his undergraduate years at Luther College Iowa, a liberal arts institution that he remembered fondly (“Ronald K. Calgaard”, 2014). During his twenty years serving as Trinity’s president, he was known for his no-nonsense personality, his charisma, and his drive to bring change (“Parker Jenkins Interview”, 2019).
