9 things everyone should know about Title IX

Title IX states, "Title IX Defined. No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving federal financial assistance." (feminist.org). Title IX has been a hot topic ever since it's debut in 1972, and has affected most, if not all, of the universities recieving governemntal subsidies for athletics. Trinity University is no exception to this as Title IX has caused many changes throughout history to Trinity's athletic department. This resulted in more equality for genders in the sports world, however, also sparked conflict and created some turmoil in the process.
