Trinity University cheerleading has been around for over a century and its an important aspect of the college experience for some. It goes hand in hand with football and always will. Cheerleading has become sexualized in some ways and it has also relied heavily on females who have given their all to this sport. It takes skill and perseverance for some who make this a lifestyle. From knowing most cheerleaders and talking with a few, it is a sport that they enjoy and does not let them down, they play fair, they meet new friends, and they are one of the faces of Trinity University. Gender roles are still changing every day and we will continue to see differences, but Trinity University has changed its landscape following how society viewed this.
