Reflection

This project was very interesting and I thoroughly enjoyed my topic. I have always been interested in gender roles no matter what part it played. The difference between male and female expectations always caught. The most challenging part of this research project was finding someone to interview. I realized as I was trying to find female cheerleaders from back in the day that I only knew their maiden name. It proved to be challenging, but I eventually found someone who was able to give me some useful information. Regarding the content that I was able to dig up, I feel as if I should've condensed my topic a bit. I'm not sure what I would have focused more on, but I feel as if I didn't really dive as deep as I wanted to. With this broadened topic, I did learn more about how gender roles impacted sports and what restrictions came with that. Gender roles are still a huge issue presently, but we have come a long way from what it used to be. Slowly and surely, many will adapt to the changes in expectations leading to better equality in all fields.
