Interview With Self-Proclaimed Tennis Historian Lianna Jones

In my interview with Ms. Lianna Jones, a good family friend of mine, we talked about the importance of Trinity tennis in this era. In her time as a University of Georgia Bulldogs tennis player, Ms. Jones only lost to one team: Trinity. "Both for the women's teams and the men's teams, during my time as a college tennis player, everybody knew about Trinity..." She went on to comment about the great history and tradition that Trinity tennis had on the national stage.

Her testimony toward Trinity's greatness has everything to do with the depth of talent that Trinity had developed. They had players that could win at every position, even if they were not in the starting lineup. These players were good enough to start at almost any other school in the highest lines possible, but at Trinity, they did not even crack the lineup. Ms. Jones commented on the importance of Trinity's tennis program as a tennis holy land, where stars graced the courts, with deep teams that could dynastically win titles.
