Coach Wheeler - Outside the Diamond

   Aside from how proud he was of belonging to the Trinity family for so many years, he was also especially proud of service during World War II. A true patriot, Coach Houston Wheeler served served exactly "3 years, 11 months, 12 days & 7 hours," as most people that were close to him heard him repeat that timeline on many different occasions with a chuckle and a caring smile on his face (legacy.com).

   Mr. Wheeler was also Professor of Health and Physical Education at Trinity during his tenure. In his free time, Wheeler enjoyed playing golf, tennis, Bridge, & watching sports in any form. He was big on family, and spent as much time as he could with his family singing tunes by the piano. A religious man, Wheeler attended & ushered at the Alamo Heights United Methodist Church where you could expect to see him every single Sunday (legacy.com).
