Above is a picture of Mike Bacsik (left), Rick Mahler (middle), and Mick Mahler (right) in their professional uniforms. All three had at least 5 years of service in the MLB and posted sub 5 earned run averages.

3 pitchers on the ’72 pitching staff made it to the professional level, as Mick Mahler, Rick Mahler, and Mike Bacsik all played in the MLB. To have one player play in the majors is an accomplishment, but to have 3 speaks to the ridiculous talent this 1972 Trinity baseball team possessed.

Rick Mahler saw the longest tenure in the league out of all three of them, as he spent 13 years in the MLB with a 4.43 ERA. Bacsik also posted a 4.43 ERA in the bigs. Mickey spent 8 years in the bigs and posted a 4.68 ERA (baseball-almanac.com).
