In 1968, the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League used their first round draft pick to secure the Trinity Tiger defensive end, Marvin Upshaw. Upshaw would become Trinity University's only first round NFL draft pick being selected at No. 21. He would play two seasons with the Browns before being traded to the Kansas City Chiefs where his career sparked.
