My Thoughts

The one thing that I enjoyed most about this project would also be the one thing that I disliked the most, conducting the research. It was bittersweet. I enjoyed learning about Trinity's sports history which is not something that I have ever put much thought into. Learning about not only, Marvin Upshaw but also the football program as a whole in 1964-1968 put his success and accomplishment into perspective. However, my research also lead me to a lot of dead-ends which was rather frustrating. I felt like I was constantly getting so far but then also not being able to get far enough. At times it was challenging, however, not having a narrow focused research question and looking at problems and topics from different angles is how I was able to gain permient information.

If I could start over, and provide any advice to future classes, it would be to start trying to reach-out and conduct interviews from day one. My biggest challege and failure would have been not being able to get in touch with Mr. Upshaw. Having his opinion and take on my research would have been the golden ticket and would have added a significant amount of value.

Moving forward, Omeka was a fun way to display all my hardwork throughout the semester. I learned how to display research in a fun way that hopefully my viewers will enjoy reading and learning about Marvin.
