The Friendship Between Newman and Buchholz
Cliff Buchholz and Butch Newman became friends about 4 years before deciding to both come to Trinity together (Newman, 2017). Buchholz moved to San Antonio and finished high school with Newman so that they could play together before setting off to college (Newman, 2017). Together they decided to go play at Trinity for a upcoming program headed by Mr. Clarence Mabry. Mabry had recently recruited the top amateur player in the world, Chuck McKinley, so the decision to go to Trinity was not so difficult(Newman, 2017).
