Competition between different teams and clubs in intramurals.

Regarding who participated in field hockey, the majority of IM players were either in Greek life clubs or clubs based on their dorms (Trinitonian pg. 11, 1972).This was an easy way to form a team with a group of people that they already associated with and likely had similar interests with. Based on the record books I found in the archives, there seemed to be lots of Greek on Greek competition (IM Rules, Regulations & Records pg. 28, 1971-1972) because many of them had rivalries or tension and could take it out physically through playing one another in IM’s. Based on the field hockey research uncovered, there were lots of sports that the Gamma Chi Delta club participated in and came out of as the champion. For field hockey particularly there were two instances of Gammas reigning in first or second place. The first was in the 1973-1974 IM Rules, Regulations and Records book, which stated that they were champions in field hockey that semester. The Gammas then came in second for the field hockey season in 1975-1976, as they lost to the Thomas dorm team.
