Over Coach Steve Mohr’s 24 year Hall of Fame tenure at Trinity University, he set countless records that will not be broken any time soon. He is Trinity’s all-time winningest coach at 186 wins. He also has the best winning percentage in school history at .715 (186-74). He led his team to 12 different NCAA Playoff appearances, including the 2002 Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl, the NCAA Division III National Championship game. Coach Mohr and the Tigers won 16 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference titles and advanced to the NCAA Semifinals 3 separate times. He was elected to National Coach of the Year in 1998 and 2002 and coached 25 All-America honors players in his 32 year career. In 2007, his team accomplished the “Miracle in Mississippi.” The Miracle in Mississippi was the last play of a game against Millsaps where Trinity lateraled the ball 15 times to somehow find the end zone after the ball touched 7 different people. The play was an internet sensation, it even made it on ESPN. Coach Mohr was interviewed by Sports Illustrated after the crazy game winning 60 seconds 15 lateral play. After all of these accolades, it safe to say that Steve Mohr was the right man for the job to turn Trinity’s football program around back in 1990. Mohr created a tradition unlike any other that lasted decades and Trinity is now known for their football program because of his hard work, discipline, and an attitude that is second to none. Steve Mohr was inducted in to Trinity's Hall of Fame in 2015.
