The Blue Sky Foundation

After Stockton retired from professional tennis, he felt a call to start an organization that would benefit military families through sport. In 2013, Dick and his wife started the Blue Sky Foundation. Other professional tennis players including Brian Gottfried and Martina Navratilova, have volunteered with the Blue Sky Foundation and have made significant contributions to the organization. Boots on the Court, one of the programs within the Blue Sky Foundation, brings tennis to military families around the country (Blue Sky Foundation).

Dick realized the need for a camp like this when speaking to his wife, a former tennis player and a daughter in a military family. They hold tennis camps for the spouses and children of military members and gives them an outlet and a break from their normal lives. They travel to various military bases and provide players with equipment and lessons about the game of tennis This organization continues to touch the lives of many troops and their families in a positive way and remains one of Dick Stockton’s greatest accomplishments.
