The year 1972 was headlined by many pivotal events around the world. The Munich Olympics were underway, Atari had created the game PONG, and President Nixon was accused of covering up evidence in the Watergate Scandal. Meanwhile, in Texas, the men’s tennis team from Trinty University was recovering from a heartbreaking loss in the national tournament the year prior. The plan was to have a senior-led team that could compete for a national championship. The up and coming senior class was headlined by Bob McKinley, Paul Gerken, and Dick Stockton, the top-ranked recruit in the country (Trinitonian). It would be up to these men to lead the Tigers to the national championship.
