Reflection

What did you enjoy about this project?

I enjoyed having the oppurtunity to learn about a piece of history about Trinity that is not widely known. I've always heard of the old bowling alley but had never heard of the bowling team or any of bowlers who participated.

What surprised you about this project?

I think it was surprising to see the lack of information on this topic since the bowling team and alley had existed for more than a decade yet relative to other sports there is little mention of this.

What was the most challenging aspect of the project, and how did you manage it?

The most challenging part was reading beyond the surface when it came to researching. I had found some information but I still had to correctly understand what it all meant. This was also another enjoyable aspect to the project, I could create a sort of narrative from all of the evidence I found.

If you could start over, what would you do differently?

I would focus more on my initial proposal and research. I felt that I needed to define my purpose a bit more. For example, I kept changing the range of years I was researching based on new information I kept pulling, which extended the process considerably.

What did you learn about history and/or the historical process through this project?

I learned that not everything will get recorded somewhere and from that I truly realized how important it is to document such times. Humans can quickly forget about the past and, no matter if the past is viewed negatively or positively, there is much to appreciate what you learn about it

What did you learn through this project that can be applied to life outside the classroom?

I believe that I view almost everything differently as I understand that I do not completely know the origins of everything. There is so much we do not know and it's worthwhile to figure this. I am more curious about any fact that is brought to my attention and I try to view current events through a different perspective.
