Coach Scannell's stradegy that he has taught his teams attribute to the success of his plyers. Coach Scannell has had twenty-nine players drafted or signed to professional teams. College baseball under the NCAA has added many new rules regarding types of bats allowed. That rule in known as the BBCOR test which was implemented in October of 2017 (NCAA, 2017). This anayzes the bats in order to determine which bats players can and cannot use in college (NCAA, 2017). The BBCOR has not, "[Changed Trinity's stradegy]; we are an offensive minded program... We spend hours teaching guys to drive the baseball. We are always a top home run hitting team" (Scannell, 2018). Coach Scannell added before such a rule, "Baseball had seen a small window around 2001, where the bats were -5 in oz. and they had a barrel that had a tampoline effect. During that period the ball exploded off the bat, other then that it [the game] has not changed much" (Scannell, 2018). Baseball may have seen changes such as the BBCOR but overall it had not seen drastic changes, suggesting that baseball is a stamp in our culture as Americans and a community and Trinity.

Trinity baseball is a force to be reckoned with, year after year this program has the records to show for how successful these players and coaches were and are. It will be amazing to look back years from now and see what more the program had added to the history of Trinity University.

Coach Scannell's coaching strategy has continued to add to the history of this amazing program and university. Winning a National Championship in any sport holds a lot of weight. What did it take to get to that point, and what did past players contribute to make that happen? Trinity baseball under the helm of Coach Scannell continues in a direction that Trinity University and the San Antonio community will look back on as a major component in Trinity staying on the map as one of the best schools. The baseball program's history will continue to be built upon, leading to rich research into the success of the program.
