When Trinity made the move to DIII across the board, Dr. Calgard, Trinity’s President at the time, made a commitment to DIII athletics. He then hired two coaches, Paul McGinlay for the men’s soccer program along with Nick Cowell for the women’s. Although the women’s team has had a few different coaches since Cowel, l such as Lance Key and Dylan Harrison, Paul McGinlay has remained the men’s coach since 1991.

McGinlay has completed 26 seasons with the Tigers and “he is one of the winningest active soccer coaches in the nation, by percentage, in all NCAA Divisions” (Trinity, 2017). He has made a lasting impact on the men’s soccer program and Trinity University as a whole. His list of personal achievements along with the men’s soccer program speaks for itself, but most importantly speak to the changes Coach McGinlay implemented. This exhibit shows the changes made upon McGinlay's arrival in 1991 and how he built this soccer empire that is countinuing to grow.
