When it comes to discussing the intersection of intramurals and Greek life, there are few people more passionate than the women of Gamma Chi Delta. Founded in 1961, the Gammas are one of the oldest sororities at Trinity University. For the first twenty to thirty years of their existence, the Gammas prided themselves on being the most athletic sorority. As a result of this mindset, the women of Gamma Chi Delta recruited members that were athletic in hopes of fielding good intramural teams, and conversely, women at Trinity joined Gammas just to be part of a solid intramural squad. Looking at different student perspectives helps gain a better understanding of how Greek life and intramural sport intersect.
