Team Success

This team was one of the best in the school’s history, achieving a 19-5 record, winning the Southland Conference and making the NCAA tournament at the division 1 level, eventually losing to Texas A&M (Trinity (TX) vs. Texas A&M Box Score, 1969). After this season, Trinity was never as successful again and eventually dropped down to the division 3 level, which it is still a part of today. While this team was extremely successful, most Trinity students probably know nothing about the team or what made them so successful. With superstar Larry Jeffries, and wise coach Bob Polk, there was a product of a buildup of a number of years of improvement.
