When it was time to contend with other schools, Trinity dominated for the most part. The Trinitonian issued on April 28, 1972 explains how Trinity aimed to capture their eighth Southland Conference Championship in the last nine years after finishing the week by shutting out four different schools and marking their 25th straight victory. The team would go on to improve that mark and finish the season with a perfect record of 36-0. The 1972 tennis team was unbeatable.
