Dick Stockton interview notes.

During an interview with Dick Stockton, he stressed how having other great players such as Brian Gottfried, Paul Gerken, and Bob McKinley took massive amounts of pressure off each other. Dick said that his favorite tennis moment was winning the 1972 NCAA championship rather than almost winning Wimbledon or going pro because he was so obsessed with the team aspect of winning the championship together. His greatest friends were on that team and they won it together (personal interview). According to Dick, he had a great relationship with his doubles partner Bob McKinley. They had played together when they were kids but never knew they would both end up at Trinity as doubles partners. One of his biggest regrets was never winning the doubles tournament together because they knew they were good enough to win it.
