Above is a snapshot of an article title from the Pittsburgh Press in 1960.

Just like many of the other players on the team, Dick Stockton started his tennis career young and dominated early. He was a standout athlete at age nine and competed with kids in the 15U league. He was clearly in a league of his own at such a young age. When he was 13 years old, Clarence Mabry reached out to him and told him to come to Trinity. He was able to bypass his senior year of highschool and went strate to Trinity where he began his extremely succesful career.
