Early Struggles of Trinity Baseball in NCAA Division III Athletics

The 1993 Trinity University Baseball team faced great obstacles.  The move to Division III athletics required the team to play under different rules and standards than other programs it competed against.  The lack of athletic scholarships often left the team competing against other scholarship baseball programs in the non-conference early part of its schedule.  In 1993, Trinity University was the only school in its conference that was based in Texas.  This required the team to travel out of state to play its road confernce games.  The frequent road trips caused great adversity for its players to maintian their acadmic pursuits.
